FST hears number of service matters filed by FBR employees on Friday

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Service Tribunal (FST) on Friday held the hearing of a number of service-matters, challenging administrative measures taken by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

During the course of hearing, decision on one of the cases was reserved while the hearing of the rest of the cases was adjourned to different dates. All of the cases heard by the benches were filed by the employees of the FBR.

A division bench of the FST comprising members, Syed Rafique Hussain Shah and Syed Muhammad Hamid, heard two cases filed by Arif Saeed and Shafqat Rasool Sindhu.

Former appellant had raised issue of ‘special allowance’ while the later one had submitted complaint on ‘censure’ before the tribunal. The bench reserved decision on application filed by Shafqat Rasool after completing hearing of arguments presented by the counsels involved. While hearing of the other case was adjourned.

Another bench of FST, comprising tribunal’s members, Syed Rafique Hussain Shah and Dr Nazir Saeed also held hearing of cases carrying complaints about seniority and implementation by the FBR. This bench adjourned hearing of the cases for coming dates.

Appellants M Taimur and M Jamil filed petitions regarding pending implementation over FST decisions by the FBR. The tribunal had decided in their favor and had directed the board of promote them to the due scales but yet the FBR had not implemented tribunal’s orders in letter and spirit.   They had pleaded the tribunal to ensure implementation over its earlier given decisions.

The bench also heard Shafqat Mahmud’s complaint about ‘promotion’, Khalid Mehmood’s case of ‘seniority’, Ghulafm Ishaq Kiyani and Ata ur Rehman’s cases on ‘withholding of two annual increments’.
