FST to hear various complaints against FBR today

ISLAMABAD: Two division benches of Federal Service Tribunal will hear plenty of cases carrying ‘promotion’ and ‘implementation’ complaints against the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Tuesday.

The benches comprising Syed Rafique Hussain and Dr Nazir Saeed; and Ishtiaq Ahmed and Syed Muhammad Hamid would hear the cases

A bench would hear promotion cases filed by Attique Ahmed Abbasi, Zeeshan Zafar, Mian Muhammad Shahzad, Mian Asif Mehmood, Ch.Muhammad Sajid, Ahmad Din, Rizwan Jillani, Muhammad Younas, Muhammad Hussain, Muhammad Rafique, and Abdul Basit

The appellants had submitted complaints about their due promotion, which was not granted by the department. They have prayed the tribunal to issue necessary directives to the board in this regard.

Another bench comprising of Member Ishtiaq Ahmed and Syed Muhammad Hamid would hear cases with complaints of ‘implementation’. These cases were filed by Muhammad Bashir and Muhammad Ashraf.

They had prayed the tribunal to direct the board for implementing FST decision on their submissions. It is pertinent to mention that tribunal had announced verdict in favour of Bashir and Ashraf.

Meanwhile, a division bench of FST on Monday adjourned hearing of couple of complaints filed by employees of FBR.

The bench comprising of Members, Ishtiaq Ahmed and Syed Muhammad Hamid heard petitions filed by FBR employees Sajjad Haider and Muhammad Shafiq. The bench adjourned hearing of cases till next Monday.

The bench also issued directives to counsels involved to ensure their presence before the bench on next hearing. Hearing was adjourned owing to absence of one of the counsels.

The appellants had asked the tribunal to direct the FBR administration on ‘extension of study leave and correction of date of birth respectively.
