Gwadar Customs seizes huge quantity of electronic items

KARACHI: Model Customs Collectorate, Gwadar, has seized a huge quantity of non-duty commercial LaserJet printers while one person was arrested during the action.

Collector Saeed Akram received information that some elements were planning to smuggle LaserJet printers from out of the city which were brought into a warehouse in the area of Tank. On this, he informed the anti-smuggling team and instructed them to curb the smuggling. The team formed check points at main entry and exit point of the city and started the checking of vehicles. During the checking of vehicles the team intercepted a mini truck. During the search of the truck the team recovered 50 LaserJet printers and 100 special LaserJet cartridges. The Customs officials asked the driver to produce the legal documents of the loaded items but he was failed to produce the same.

Therefore the customs officials seized the items and arrested a man who was involved in smuggling. Officials said that the value of seized items is more than Rs1.2 million in market.
