LAHORE: The Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) has adjourned the hearing of three cases filed by M/s NFC Co-operative Housing Society Private Limited, M/s Arslan Plastic Private Limited and M/s Prime Soap and Chemical Industries Corporate Regional Tax Office (CRTO) Lahore.
According to the details, Consultant to Federal Tax Ombudsman Tariq Yousaf heard all three cases in which the counsel for the complainant appeared for the arguments in the favor of their respective parties.
The counsel claimed that CRTO remained fail to make payment of tax refund claims to the companies during the last three years.
At the end, the appellants decided to approach Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) to interfere in this case and direct the Gujranwala RTO to clear the pending refund claims as early as possible, the counsel argued, adding that the CRTO should clear the refunds at the end of fiscal year but it did not do the same.
On the other side, the representatives of the respondents argued that the RTO has ready to settle the case after assessment.
After hearing the arguments from both sides the Adviser of Federal Tax Ombudsman Muneer Qurashi adjourned the case till next dates for further hearing.
