LAHORE: Consultant of Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO) Tariq Yousaf has heard an appeal filed by the proprietor of M/s Pioneer Gas Private Limited against the Corporate Regional Tax Office (CRTO) Lahore and adjourned it until the next date.

FTO Consultant Tariq Yousaf heard the case in which counsel for appellant argued that the Corporate Regional Tax Office (CRTO) has failed to release the tax refunds claimed by the company since two years.

He said the RTO has been collecting excessive taxes from Muhammad Furqan Ullah Baig, M/s Pioneer Gas Private Limited, for the last two years. He approached the commissioner concerned several times for release of refunds but the CRTO did not respond positively, even after the passage of a reasonable time.

At the end, the company decided to approach the FTO seeking his intervention. The counsel appealed to the FTO consultant to order the CRTO to clear the refund claims.

On the other hand, the FTO consultant said the CRTO is ready to solve the case of the plaintiff if he provides details of the record.

After hearing the arguments from both sides, Consultant Tariq Yousaf postponed the hearing and ordered the parties to appear on the next date to present their arguments.
