Gawadar Customs foils bid to smuggle 15kgs hashish

KARACHI: The Customs Collectorate Quetta has foiled an attempt to smuggle a huge quantity of drugs during a crackdown.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Gawadar Saad Akram received secret information about smuggling of drugs. Subsequently, he formed a team which started road checking during which the customs team intercepted a Suzuki and recovered 15 kilograms hashish. The market value of seized hashish is Rs 700,000.

Customs teams seized the hashish and arrested the accused person. It is necessary to mention here that customs teams recovered 78 kilograms of hashish from a truck on December 22 and after this customs recovered 15 kilograms of hashish. Customs team registered separate cases of smuggling against the accused persons.
