Gazprom increase exports abroad 29% in H1 of January

MOSCOW: Russian energy giant Gazprom gas deliveries to the far abroad from January 1 through January 16 have increased 29.4 percent to 7.75 billion cubic meters, Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller said Monday.

“Key country consumers have shown a considerable growth. In particular, exports to Germany grew by 42.1 percent, to Great Britain by 170.2 percent, to Italy by 23.4 percent, to Poland by 58.1 percent, to France by 22.8 percent, and to Austria by 75.5 percent,” Miller said during a company meeting.

Gazprom is the largest extractor of natural gas in the world, accounting for 12 percent of the global gas output, according to the company.

Last week, Miller announced that in 2015 the company had increased its gas exports to non-Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries by 8 percent. The export of gas increased to 59.4 billion cubic meters, according to the official.

According to Miller, Gazprom recorded increases in deliveries to the company’s major clients in 2015, including to France — by 36.8 percent, to Germany — by 17.1 percent, to Italy — by 12.6 percent, to Austria and the United Kingdom by 11.5 and 10.2 percent respectively.
