Gold smuggling accused arrested from Lahore airport is nephew of Toufeeq Butt

LAHORE: An accused who was booked by Customs Preventive at the Lahore airport while he was carrying heavy quantity of gold and foreign currency is  the nephew of a well-known local PML-N worker Toufeeq Butt.

Customs Today has already reported that Abdul Basit has very strong background and political influence as well.

It is also noted that Toufeeq Butt is a contractor of the largest café at the Allama Iqbal International Airport and has much influence in city.

Sources said that the currency and gold havinig value of  Rs 33 million were handed over to him after security clearance, which shows that the airport security and other relevant staff were taken into confidence before this act.

Sources further said that if investigation is done in a fair manner, they are confident that it will reveal many new and some renowned political faces as well. It is an act to convert black money into white, said Collector Mukarram Jah in his press conference after this incident.
