Gold smuggling: Customs Court disposes of bail plea of PIA’s airhostess

LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has disposed of a bail plea filed by Pakistan International Airlines air hostess who was arrested on the charges of gold smuggling from Allama Iqbal International Airport.

According to the details, Special Judge Chaudhary Ameer Muhammad Khan heard the bail plea of accused Nuzhat Bulgaria.

Earlier, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) claimed on August 23 to have arrested a senior Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) airhostess from Lahore airport in connection with an attempt to smuggle gold to the United States (US).

Later, she was handed over to customs for further prosecution. The suspect reportedly confessed that she was trying to smuggle gold from Lahore to New York via PIA flight PK-721. The woman was later handed over to customs officials for further investigation and they got judicial remand of the accused.
