ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is setting up a new online complaint portal to give taxpayers a direct channel for resolving issues with the tax department, officials confirmed.
The portal will let taxpayers submit complaints electronically instead of relying on in-person visits or lengthy departmental correspondence.
Officials said the system is designed to speed up the resolution of problems that citizens routinely face while dealing with tax authorities, ranging from procedural delays to unresolved queries at various offices.
A dedicated committee has been constituted to oversee the development of portal, according to FBR officials, who said the initiative forms part of a wider push to make the tax administration more responsive to public concerns. The board did not specify a launch date for the platform.
The move comes as the FBR continues efforts to modernize taxpayer services and reduce friction in its interactions with the public, a step officials say is aimed at building greater trust between the department and taxpayers.
