Sources said that the government implemented court orders by removing Ayyan Ali name from ECL to avoid contempt of court proceedings. But it used a legal way to put her name in the ECL again.  Assistant Collector Tahir Iqbal told Customs Today that the Customs Department has solid proof that Customs Adjudication had imposed a penalty of Rs 50 million on Ayyan Ali.

He said that the Ministry of Interior was informed that she had to pay the fine imposed on her by the Customs Adjudication and she might not return to the country once she went abroad. After examining the application, the Ministry of Interior decided to put her name in the ECL again.
