In a statement issued here on Thursday, the PVMA chairman was of the view that it was mandatory for all oil manufacturing companies to register with the Pakistan Standard Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) in accordance with the laws and guidelines, however; such guidelines are not being followed in production and sale of substandard edible ghee and cooking oil.

He urged the authorities concerned to take immediate notice of the rampant sale of substandard edible ghee and cooking oil in the country, as it is injurious to health.
