ISLAMABAD: The federal government has directed the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to ensure the standard of material in imported solar power equipment.
Following the complaints regarding the import of low quality equipment, the federal government has issued instructions to the FBR.
Sources added that Alternative Power Development Board has issued a report after the consultations with provincial department of power and electricity, Pakistan Council of Renewable Energy Technologies, Pakistan Standard and Quality Authority, FBR and Customs Clearance Agents.
According to the report, the solar power equipment which have been imported this time were not up to the mark.
In the report, it was also proposed that FBR should play an effective role in this regard. FBR should deploy technical experts in the customs clearing offices all over the country to maintain the quality of imported items.
