Govt likely to extend deadline of tax amnesty scheme up to March 15

ISLAMABAD: Ministry of Finance is mulling over to extend the deadline of tax amnesty scheme following the demands of traders.

The deadline might be extended up to March 15, while the traders have asked the government to extend the date up to June 30 in order to ensure maximum benefit and promote tax culture.

The traders’ team that is negotiating with FBR to settle the matter has asked for more time and hoped an effective response will be received from the traders regarding the scheme.

The consequences of the scheme are not up to the mark therefore; the government is considering the demand of traders. It is hoped that an announcement for new date will might be made on February 29 (Monday).
