MULTAN: The government is planning to issue tax return bonds to tax payers  through banks for their tax return claims and an advisory committee of all the concerning stakeholders will soon be constituted at the regional level to address the tax related issues  of businessmen.

These matters have been discussed by the members of Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) with Inland Revenue Operations(IR-Ops) member of FBR Dr Irshad Ahmad in a meeting at Regional Tax Office (RTO) Multan.

Dr Irshad Ahmad said that the business community  of  any country can play a vital role in the development and we are ready to listen and solve their ploblems at any level.

Talking to Customs Today member of Multan Chmaber of Commerce and Industry Khawaja Usman said that ‘‘we have got a positive vibe from the FBR member and now the tax issues of the business community of South Punjab will be resolved through RTO Multan and for this purpose an advisory committee is going to be constituted in which the members of MCCI and MTBA (Multan Tax Bar Association) will also be involved to tackle the problems of tax payers’’.

He added that the FBR Inland Revenue member operations has told us that  the tax returns of the tax payers would be entertained through tax return bonds by means of  banks and the government is working on it.

He said we had closely been working with RTO Multan to solve the tax issues  because the business community had some operational issues with the FBR.

He has also told that the businessmen have complete trust on RTO Multan but sometimes the differences between the tax calculations from the both sides create the problems and the high ups should have to guide us regarding the policies of FBR.

During the past few weeks ,the sudden raids of the department on business sites have been creating a sense of insecurity among the business community and the department should have to think about it because the traders are paying their taxes, he stated.

The delegation of MCCI who met with member FBR was consisted of ex-president Mian Iqbal Hassan, Mirza Ali Ahmad, Khawaja Usman and other members.
