KARACHI: The government has planned to increase the Federal Excise Duty (FED) on the imported cosmetics, makeup as well as toiletries items in the upcoming budget 2016-2017.
According to the source, it is expected that the government may increase 2 percent federal excise duty on the imported perfumes, creams, shampoos, face powder, lips sticks, eye liner, nail polish, shaving creams in the upcoming budget 2016-2017.
The importers have shown deep concern over the government policy to increase federal excise duty on the imported cosmetics, makeup as well as toiletries items, saying that due to the increase of 5 to 8 percent federal excise duty the smuggling of the cosmetics, makeup as well as toiletries items will raise and importers will face huge loss.
