ISLAMABAD: The Directorate General of Inland Revenue (IR) Intelligence and Investigation has made reasonable progress in a case against supermodel Ayyan Ali despite government pressure.
According to source, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has accessed all bank accounts of Ayyan Ali and others who used to provide money to her through different means and banking channels. Source further revealed that due to the government pressure, the department could not provide important details to the court as it would annoy a big personality of Sindh’s biggest political party. In short, the department reached front-line person but the government pressure prevented it from further investigations.
If the FBR was allowed to continue the investigation, it can disclose big personalities involved in the case. It is pertinent to mention here that government has already stopped the FBR from further proceeding against Ayyan Ali and due to this pressure Adjudication Director Seema Raza Bukhari was stopped from filing an appeal in court against Ayyan’s bail and as a result she was transferred on refusal. The Directorate General of Inland Revenue Intelligence and Investigation is determined to proceed with the case despite all pressures.
