Govt puts country on road to progress: Abid Sher

FAISALABAD: State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali said on Saturday the incumbent government had put the country on road to progress and prosperity and days were not far when the homeland would get rid of crises.

Addressing a public meeting in Zulifqar Colony here Saturday, he said the PML-N government was giving priority to serve the masses, adding that all resources were being mobilized for resolving problems of the people according to its commitments made with them.

He said the government had taken number of steps on war-footing in energy sector and hoped this crisis would be overcome shortly.

The minister said that agreements of 20 billion dollar signed with China were of energy sector only.

He said the first and biggest solar power project in the country history would helpful in overcoming energy crisis adding that 900 MWelectricity from Quaid-e-Azam Solar Park would be added in the system by 2016.

Mian Tahir Jamil MPA said that solar power project was a landmark achievement of the government in energy sector which had proved its sincerity in resolving load shedding issue on priority basis.

He said that millions of rupees were being spent on development schemes in the constituency to improve living standard of the people.

Notables of the area and a large number of workers were present on the occasion.
