ISLAMABAD: The government is in talks with different local and international financial institutions to secure funding for 4,500MW Dasu hydropower project.
According to officials, Rs1.44 billion will be taken from local banks while another $800 million from any international bank for execution of the project, Radio Pakistan reported on Saturday. About 4,500 megawatts of electricity will be generated from this run-of-the-river power project. In the first stage, the project will add 2160 MW to the national grid. The officials said contracts have already been awarded for relocation of Karakorum Highway, construction of right bank access road and 132 kilowatt transmission line from Dubair to Dasu.
