Govt taking steps to provide essential item at cheaper rates, Yasim claims

LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Food and Chairman Cabinet Price Control Committee Bilal Yasin has said the government has taken coordinated steps to provide quality essential items at cheaper rates to the people during Ramazan-ul-Mubarak.

He said this during his surprise visits to Ramazan bazaars and fair price shops at Hafizabad and Sheikhupura districts, says a handout issed here on Saturday.

He said that provincial ministers and other senior officials were visiting various districts to review the arrangements.

The provincial minister said that government was implementing a comprehensive programme of public welfare under which relief was being given to the people in various sectors.

He said that the subsidy given under Ramazan package by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was being spent for providing relief to the people.

Bilal Yasin directed district administration to ensuredisplay of prices of each item at stalls in Ramazan bazaars.

He said that a separate queue of women should be arranged at sugar stalls.

He said that provision of maximum relief to masses was top priority of the government.
