Gujranwala Chamber demands govt declare EPZ as industrial estate 3

GUJRANWALA: Export Processing Zone (EPZ) Chairman Dr Khawar Jameel has called on Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Khawaja Khalid Hassan and discussed Gujranwala Export Processing project.

Khawaja Khalid Hassan said that the project has failed to achieve the objectives. Industrialists who bought land in this zone on heavy prices failed to shift their industries due to low rate of customs duty in the zone. While this zone also faces lake of industrial basic needs.

He further said that 82% of business community rejects the EPZ and demanded to declare it as industrial estate 3. We wrote letters to government several times to declare it as industrial state 3 and hope it will implement.  Dr. Khawar Jameel assured him of his support.
