Gujranwala Customs impounds non-duty paid Toyota Hilux worth Rs 1.5m

SIALKOT: Customs Intelligence and Investigation Gujranwala team has impounded a non-duty paid Toyota Hilux Surf worth Rs 1.5 million which was plying on road without payment of Customs duty at Narowal road.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Gujranwala Zainab Mehmood received information about some non-duty paid vehicles. She immediately constituted a customs team under the supervision of Superintendent Muhammad Anwar which also included Inspector Mian Muhammad Yousaf and Constables Asad Raza, Mubashir, Boota etc. The team started checking of vehicles on Narowal Road

During checking process the customs taem intercepted a intercepted a Toyota Surf Hilux and asked the driver who was identified as Nazir to produce legal documents regarding possession of vehicles.

The driver failed to produce any documents about vehicles. After his failure customs team impounded the vehicle and released the driver after proper investigations from him. The market value of seized vehicle is Rs1.5 million.

Sources said that customs authorities will send a notice to the owner of the vehicle to produce legal documents of the vehicle if he failed to submit the required documents then customs team will forward this case to Customs Adjudication authorities for further proceedings.
