The said intelligence officer along with his team members, including constables Usama, Boota, Mubashir and Sajid Raza started checking of vehicles at Kamoke Check Post on Grand Trunk (GT) Road and intercepted a van which was moving to Lahore from Rawalpindi.

The team checked the van and recovered Iranian cloth and toys worth Rs 100,000. The team asked driver named Inayat about booking documents of recovered items but the driver could not produce the same.

The driver told the team that the items were loaded from Rawalpindi Van Stand by the stand manager. The team confiscated the items under the customs laws and shifted them to Customs Warehouse for further investigation.

The team will issue legal notice to stand manager and register a case against the suspect, besides sending the case to Customs Adjudication for further proceeding. If the court announces judgment in favour of the department, the said items will be auctioned under customs laws. The team released the driver with van after proper interrogation.
