Gujranwala Customs Intelligence impounds 3 cars worth Rs 9.5m

SIALKOT: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Gujranwala, impounded three vehicles worth Rs 9.5 million and a truck loaded with India bananas worth Rs 2.2 million.

On the directions of Deputy Director Zainab Mehmood, Senior Intelligence Officer Muhammad Anwar Chaudhary formed a team under the supervision Intelligence Officer Saad Iqbal Sindhu to check vehicles in order to curb smuggling under the continued anti-smuggling campaign.

Intelligence Officer Saad Iqbal Sindhu along with his team members named Head Constable Mubashir Ahmed, Constables Usama Latif, Muhammad Ashraf, Abid Ali, Raja Suleman and Driver Aslam Shah established check post on Grand Trunk (GT) Road.

The officials impounded Toyota Hilux Surf bearing Registration No DX-4734 worth Rs 3.2 million, Toyota Mark X bearing Registration No DGN-328 worth Rs 2.3 million and impound another vehicle bearing Registration No XX-546 worth Rs 4 million. These impounded vehicles were playing on road without payment of customs duty.

In another action, the team also impounded a truck loaded with Indian banana worth Rs 2.2 million.
