Gujranwala Customs Intelligence impounds Suzuki Swift car

SIALKOT: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Gujranwala has impounded a non-duty paid Suzuki Swift car during an action on Grand Trunk (GT) Road.

Following the directions of Deputy Director Ali Zeb Khan, Superintendent Muhammad Rauf Farooqi constituted a team to check vehicles. The team comprising Intelligence Officer Maratab Ali, Constables Sajid Raza, Usama, Boota and Mubashir started checking vehicles on GT Road. The officials intercepted a Suzuki Swift car which was playing on road without bearing registration number.

The team asked driver namely Rehman Ali to show documents regarding legal import of the vehicle, but he could not produce the same. The driver tried to influence the customs officials by saying that the vehicle is owned by a renowned personality.

But the officials without taking any pressure impounded the vehicle under customs laws and shifted it to the customs officer for further investigation. The officials released the driver after proper interrogation.
