Gujranwala Customs Intelligence will establish checkpoints to curb smuggling

SIALKOT: The Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Gujranwala, has made a plan to establish new checkpoints in region in order to stricken the vigilance.

As per plan, the new check posts will be set at different locations, including River Chenab Toll Plaza, Gujrat, Sadhokey, Link Road Mandi Bahauddin, Nandipur at Bridge Canal Upper Chenab, Daska at Bridge Canal Upper Chenab, Pasrur near sugar mills, Narowal near Rangers Headquarters, Shakargarh near Bridge River Ravi and Sialkot near Head Marala Road with the cooperation of security agencies.

Officials said that new check posts would tackle smuggling through these routes whereas different security agencies will also coordinate and cooperate for curbing the smuggling.

Customs Intelligence Superintendent Chaudhary Muhammad Akmal believed that setting up new check posts will tighten the noose around the smugglers, adding that the area of vigilance will also be increased to weed out the illegal activities.
