Gwadar Collectorate seizes 2,500 Kg hashish, oil tanker

KARACHI: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) of Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Gwadar, during a raid on Thursday night, seized 2,500 kilogram fine quality hashish (charas) worth Rs 50 million from Khurkherra check-post.

According to details, the ASO team of MCC Gwadar recovered 2,500 kilogram hashish and confiscated an oil tanker worth Rs 3 million.

MCC Gwadar Assistant Collector Tauseef Gorchani confirmed the news and said that the collectorate has proper surveillance at Khurkherra check-post and its adjacent area in order to curb smuggling activities.

It is pertinent to mention here that the ASO of the Model Customs Collectorate MCC Gwadar on October 13 had also seized a huge cache of narcotics, including 2275 kilogram fine quality hashish, 8 kilogram opium and 84 kilogram ‘garda’, approximately costing Rs 50.17 million from the same check-post.

The ASO team also confiscated a Hino truck, which was coming from Quetta to Karachi.

MCC Gwadar Collector Tanvir Ahmed lauded the efforts of the ASO team and asked the officials of the Collectorate to carry on their work to eliminate smuggling.
