Gwadar Customs confiscates 36,000 litre Iranian oil, drugs

KARACHI: The Gwadar Customs has seized a huge quantity of drugs and 36,000 litres Iranian oil during two successful raids while four men were arrested during the actions.

Collector Saeed Akram received information that a huge quantity of drugs was being smuggled through a truck through Karachi-Gwadar highway. Consequently, he formed a team under the supervision of deputy collector including Mushtaq Kamran, Ayub and others. The team set up a check-post at the exit point of the Chati and started the checking of vehicles.

During the checking of vehicles the team halted a suspicious truck. During the searching of the truck the team found the truck was filled with pieces of marbles and the 100 kilo gram charas and 10 kilo gram heroin was hidden in the cavities. The Customs team seized the drug and arrested two men driver and cleanser. According to customs officials the estimated value of sized drug is more than Rs10 million.

In another action the customs intelligence team impounded a truck filled with 36,000 litres Iranian oil.. Gwadar Collector received information 36000 litres Iranian fuel smuggled from out of city. Collector directed the deputy collector to foil the smuggling of oil. He formed check post and during the checking of the vehicles intercepted a oil tanker. During the searching of the truck the team found 36,000 litres Iranian oil. The team impounded the oil tanker with smuggled fuel while two persons were arrested. The customs officials told that the market value of seized oil is more than Rs1.9 million.
