Gwadar Customs recovers 700 bottles of whisky from vehicle on Thursday

ORMARA: Collectorate of Customs Gwadar team recovered 700 bottles of foreign origin wine during routine checking of vehicles in Basul area.

Sources told Customs Today that deputy collector Gwadar received credible information that huge quantity of non duty paid foreign origin whisky is being supplied through Gwadar area. He immediately constituted a anti-smuggling squad under the supervision of Deputy Superintendent Noor Ahmed and Inspector Liaquat Magsi.

The anti smuggling squad established a check post near Ormara and started checking of vehicle. The customs team intercepted a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle stopped the vehicle and successfully fled from the scene. During checking customs team recovered 700 bottles of foreign origin whisky. Customs team seized the vehicle and whisky and after registering a case of smuggling started further investigations.

It is necessary to mention here that Customs Gwadar authorities already adopted zero tolerance policy towards smuggling.
