Gwadar Customs recovers Indian gutkha, mobile accessories

KARACHI: Customs Collectorate Gwadar has seized a huge quantity of Indian origin gutkha and mobile accessories during a special operation.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Gwadar Customs Saeed Akram received secret information about smuggling of Gutkha and mobile accessories. He constituted a raiding party comprising Inspector Ishaq Khan, Inspector Aleem Ullah Yousafzai, and Inspector Hayat. The customs team established many check points at main entry and exit points of the city.

During checking customs team intercepted a passenger van and recovered eight bags full of Indian origin gutkha and more than 300 mobile phone accessories. Customs team seized all the items and arrested four persons who claimed the ownership of these goods. Customs team forwarded the case to Customs Adjudication for further proceedings.

It is necessary to mention here that customs authorities already expedited their efforts to curb smuggling in the region and they are using all available resources to foil these attempts and getting fruitful results.
