Gwadar Customs recovers smuggled Iranian diesel, petrol

KARACHI: Customs Gwadar authorities recovered huge quantity of smuggled Iranian diesel and petrol during a crackdown.

According to sources Collector Gwadar Saeed Akram received credible information that some smugglers are planning to smuggle Iranian diesel, petrol. He immediately formed a team under the supervision of Additional Collector Junaid Ahmad Khan. The team started checking of vehicles on entry and exit points of the city.

During checking of vehicles customs team recovered 14000 liters of smuggled Iranian diesel. Customs team also arrested two persons who were invovled in smuggling. During investigations both persons admitted that they smuggled Iranian diesel and wanted to sale the diesel on different petrol pumps.

Customs team seized the diesel and forwarded the case to customs adjudication for further proceedings.
