Gwadar Customs seized 22,000 litre Iranian oil

KARACHI: Model Customs Collectorate, Gwadar, has seized 22,000 litre Iranian oil during a successful raid in the area of Pasni.

Collector Saeed Akram received information that some elements were planning to smuggle Iranian oil form out of the city. On this, he informed the anti-smuggling team which formed check-post at main entry and exit points of the city and started checking vehicles.

During the checking of vehicles, the anti-smuggling squad intercepted a suspicious oil tanker and found 22,000 litre Iranian oil. The team asked the driver to produce legal documents regarding payment of customs but he was failed to produce the same. Therefore, the team seized the oil and arrested the driver. Officials said that the value of the seized oil is Rs 1.3 million. The Customs officials have also impounded the oil tanker.
