Gwadar Customs seizes hashish, tyres worth Rs7.85m on Thursday

GWADAR: The Customs Collectorate seized huge quantity of hashish and non-duty paid tyres worth Rs 7.85 million on Thursday.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Collector Junaid Mehmood received secret information that some smugglers are trying to smuggle hashish and non-duty paid tires from Gwadar to Karachi.

After receiving this information, he constituted a raiding team under supervision of Customs Preventive Inspector Sadd Ali and others. The team, during a search operation Faisal Shaheed Chungi intercepted a truck bearing registration no GBS-8472.

During a search, the team impounded 20 kilogram of international quality hashish and150 luxury vehicles tyres valued at Rs7.85 million.

Customs team seized all the smuggled hashish and non-duty paid tyres and arrested three smugglers, who was later identified as Mubashiir Jatoe, Aslam Balouch and Saqib. Sources said that investigations are started and FIR will be lodged soon in this regard.
