Gwadar Customs seizes NDP luxury vehicles tyres worth Rs9.50m

GWADAR: A Customs Collectorate team has seized huge quantity of non-duty paid luxury vehicle’s tyres & tubes and vehicle being used for smuggling worth Rs 9.50 million.

Sources told Customs Today on 13.8.2018 that Deputy Collector Junaid Mehmood received secret information that some smugglers ware trying to smuggle non-duty paid luxury vehicles tyres and tubes from Gwadar to Karachi.

After receiving this information, he constituted a raiding team under the supervision of Customs Preventive Inspector Mujahid Ullah Afridi and others. The team, during a search operation on Gawadar Highway, intercepted a truck bearing registration no XKA-8362.

During search, the team impounded more than 250 non-duty paid luxury vehicles tyres and tubes and others items valued at Rs9.50 million including truck being used in smuggling.

The team seized all smuggled items and arrested truck driver, who were later identified as Zubair Naseem. Sources said that customs official started investigations from accused person.
