Gwadar Customs seizes printed fabric chemical worth Rs8.50

GWADAR: The Customs Collectorate Gwadar seized large quantity of printed fabric chemical boxes (powder and liquid form) worth Rs 8.50 million including vehicle used in smuggling.

Sources told Customs Today on Wednesday morning that Deputy Collector Junaid Mehmood received secret information that some smugglers are trying to smuggle non-duty-paid imported chemicals used in fabric printing from Gwadar to different cities.

After receiving this information, he constituted a raiding team under supervision of Customs Preventive Inspector Shamsher Jan, Sameer Khan and others. The team, during a search operation near Highway Road, intercepted a truck bearing registration no QVX-8411.

During the search, the team impounded  500 packets and drums of printed chemicals valued at Rs8.50 million including truck being used in smuggling. The team seized all smuggled items and arrested driver, who was later identified Saleem Ispahani. Accused person told during initial investigation that he was going to deliver these items to Thatta and Hyderabad.
