Gwadar I&I seizes smuggled goods worth Rs169.36m from Hub area

GWADAR: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation has seized I&I-Customs has seized huge quantity of smuggled goods from Hub area of Balochistan. The market value of seized goods is Rs169.36 million in international market.

Sources told Customs Today that after receiving credible information, Director Customs Intelligence and Investigations Gwadar Moeen Afzal Ali coordinated with Police of district which provided active and prompt support. A premises was raided in Emarat City Scheme in district Hub resulting in recovery huge quantities of contraband goods.

The seized goods includes 4,251,500 sachets of Indian origin Gutkha (Z-21, Sana safina, Pan parag) valuing Rs. 127.54 million, 12.74 MT of betel nuts valuing Rs. 38.22 million and 120,000 sticks of cigarettes (Pine, Milano and Mond) valuing Rs. 3.6 Million.

The overall value of seizure comes to Rs. 169.36 million. The joint operation has become a big success and has been given active coverage by local and national media.
