MULTAN: Federal and Punjab governments are utilising all the simplest resources for the event and uplift of South Punjab and day wasn’t faraway when Local and foreign investors would prefer to invest in this region, said Sardar Ilyas Tanveer Khan, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister and Chairman Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT)while delivering his speech at a dinner hosted by by noted industrialist cum agriculturist, Ex-President of MCCI and sitting President of Dera Ghazi Khan Chamber of Commerce & Industry and ex-Provincial caretaker Minister for Industries Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi.
He said that rulers of past Governments did nothing for the betterment of south Punjab.They depended on hollow slogans and mere lip-service. However, Present Government was the only regime which is doing everything in practical and said that it is first time in the history of Punjab that 35 per cent development budget has been allocated for south Punjab. He assured that Punjab Board of Investment and Trade (PBIT) would offer maximum facilities and incentives to the investors of South Punjab.
Khawaja Jalaluddin Roomi said on the occasion, “Help-Desk” of Board of Investment is a blessing for the people of Punjab and this is facility for which we were waiting for a long time. It is little question a present of present Government for the investors of South Punjab and investors are grateful to the govt . Roomi said that it’s our desire that Present Government must pay full attention for the event of agriculture and livestock to resolve the matter of livelihood of this area. He said that employment problem of 60 percent population of country might be resolved easily through boosting up agriculture, livestock and industry . He was optimistic that investment would surely come to South Punjab with the establishment of Help-Desk in Multan Chamber. Roomi said that Government was framing variety of incentive-oriented policies for investors of South Punjab and that we hope that these policies would bring an technological revolution during this area.
The guests who participated in the dinner are: Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Additional Chief Secretary, Khawaja Salahuddin, President of Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Khawaja Muhammad Younas, Chairman of All Pakistan Bedsheet & Upholstery Manufacturers Association, Dr. Arfa Iqbal,CEO PBIT, Ma’az Hassan, Sardar Umar Tanvir Ilyas, Amir Altaf Qureshi,Dr.Altaf Hussain Qureshi, Muhammad Afzal Sheikh, Muhammad Tayyab Khan,ADC,Dr. Asif Qureshi,Fahd Saleem, Dr.Ayaz Salim Ghauri, Dr.Suhail Ahmed, Ch.Liaquat Ali, Col (r) Ijaz Ahmed, Faisal Ali,Faisal Arif ,Javed Anjum,and Shakir Hussain Shakir.
