Hong Kong Customs will step up enforcement at all control points during Christmas and New Year’s holidays to combat cross-boundary drug trafficking activities. Hong Kong Customs appeals to the public to stay away from drugs and refrain from engaging in cross-boundary drug trafficking.

Under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, trafficking in a dangerous drug is a serious offence. The maximum penalty upon conviction is a fine of $5 million and life imprisonment.
