NEW DELHI: At the moment, a total of six Honor offerings are being sold in India through Flipkart. According to its own estimates, the more than 5 lakh units of these devices have been sold in India already, with sales of 2 lakh among them having come since March this year.

Huawei is in talks with a leading South India-based mobile phone retail store right now. This store has a few outlets in North India as well. There was no comment from the company upon being contacted on this matter.

Huawei is really seeing the Indian market as a major contributor in its revenue. This is evident from a lot of recent moves it has made. Although it had a smallish presence in the country before that, it made a big headway by introducing its Honor handsets.

Amidst the newly started power bank war in India, it also introduced its own option in the form of a 13000mAh device costing just Rs 1399. This product too is available for purchase only through Flipkart.

Bottom line; India has suddenly become an important market for Huawei. Let us now see how the company’s move of selling its Honor smartphones through retail channels pans out for it.
