SIALKOT: Federal Minister for Law and Climate Change Zahid Hamid on Saturday announced a development programme for the uplift and beautification of Pasrur city.
Talking to notables at his political office, he said the government had allocated special development funds worth Rs 3.25 billion for the reconstruction and dualization of main Sialkot-Pasrur Road, Rs 1.30 billion for Daska-Pasrur-Narowal Road and Rs 350 million for Pasrur-Kalaaswala-Dhoda Road. He said decades-old sewerage pipelines in the city would soon be replaced under a rectification plan.
New pipelines would soon be laid down with reconstruction of all city roads and streets in Pasrur city at a cost of Rs 1.50 billion, he added.
The minister said a sports stadium and gymnasium would also be established soon in Pasrur for sports, adding that Rs 70 million would be spent on this project as well. Earlier, he reviewed in details the pace of ongoing development schemes during a meeting with Deputy Commissioner Dr Asif Tufail at his office here. The DC gave a detailed briefing to the minister about the development schemes.
