LAHORE: Huge funds are being spent for the development of South Punjab, which would be made a developed area of the province.
This was stated by Provincial Minister for Cooperative Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar, while talking to a delegation of cultivators at his office here on Friday. He said that on the direction of Chief Minister Punjab, development projects have been started in all areas of South Punjab. He said that speedy implementation of historic Kissan package of billions of rupees announced by Prime Minister for farmers of the province is continuing.
He said that an amount of financial assistance of more than Rs 1.95 billion has been distributed among 45,000 farmers of rice and cotton by Punjab government. He told that more than 150 payment centers have been set up throughout the province in this regard.
