Hyderabad ASO impounds vehicles worth Rs 320 million

HYDERABAD: Model Customs Collectorate Hyderabad Anti-Smuggling Hyderabad has impounded 11 luxury non-duty paid vehicles worth Rs 320 million in a drive against smuggled items in the region.

Following the instruction of MCC Hyderabad Collector Ahmed Mujtaba Memon, ASO team including Additional Collector Omer Shafiq, Deputy Superintendent Sikandar Akbar Pahnhwar, Seizing officer Khair Muhammad Pathan, Inspector Momin Shah and other conduct operation against the non-duty paid vehicles in Hyderabad.

MCC Hyderabad Collector Ahmed Mujtaba Memon has in his recent instruction, directed the official to expedite the performance and to start crackdown against smuggled diesel, vehicles and other items.

ASO impounded vehicles including, Toyota Surf, Parado, Cygnus, Vigo, etc during operation on not showing the legal documents against the possession of the vehicles by owners.

Additional Collector Omar Shafique talking to Customs Today said that the department has increase the speed against the smuggled vehicles and goods to curb the menace.
