Hyderabad ASO seizes huge quantity of Iranian petrol, silk cloth

KARACHI: The Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) of Hyderabad has seized 22,000 liters Iranian petrol and 5,000 yards silk cloth during two successful raids. On the other hand, a team also recovered 20,000 liters Iranian petrol from an illegal petrol pump.

Customs Colletortate Hyderabad Agha Shahid Majeed received information that a huge quantity of Iranian petrol would be transported out of city. Following which, he formed a team under the supervision of Additional Collector. The team consisted of Inspector Kamran Khan, Majeed Sadiqee and some spays. The team established a check-point in Hyderabad market and started checking vehicles. The team intercepted an oil tanker filled with 22,000 liters of Iranian petrol. The team seized the petrol and arrested two persons who were involved in smuggling.

In another action in the same market, the team intercepted a truck and after searching recovered 5,000 yards silk clothes. The officials of ASO took clothes into custody and arrested one person. The team said that estimated amount of seized clothes is more than 1.8 million while the value of oil tanker is 10 million.

Anti Smuggling Organization got information that smuggle petrol sailing at two private petrol pumps located near the Reshmi Gali. The team raided at said place and recover 20,000 liters Iranian fuels. During the raid the arrested three owners of petrol pumps. ASO team said that the estimated value of seized petrol is more than 1.5 million.
