Chairman Nisar directs customs to take stern action against smugglers

SIALKOT: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Nisar Mohammad Khan has directed all customs officials to take strict measures to arrest smugglers.

Sources told Customs Today that the FBR has issued special instructions to all customs departments, including Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO), Customs Intelligence and Investigation, Customs Airport Staff, Customs Preventive, Field Investigation Units and all checking teams to take quick and appropriate steps to arrest smugglers to curb the transfer of smuggled goods along with those who are using the smuggled and non-duty paid vehicles.

Sources said that the FBR has also directed to put behind the bars those who are involved in illegal and unlawful activities along with smugglers as those people are damaging the national treasure because they do not pay tax to the government. When contacted an official of Customs Department Superintendent Naeem Khan he told that the Customs Department is promptly working to curb smuggling under the best command of Collector Customs of Sialkot Ahmed Reza Khan and the Customs official are achieving better results into curb smuggling and the smuggling will ended soon from the country.
