Hyderabad ASO seizes non-duty paid cigarettes, will hold auction on April 22,23

HYDERABAD: The Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) has foiled an attempt to smuggle cigarettes and seized 12 cartons of smuggled cigarettes worth Rs 1.5 million involving duty and taxes Rs0.2 million during a recent action.

The ASO team, during an operation, searched a public transport vehicle near Mirpur Khas road Hyderabad and recovered foreign origin 12 cartons containing 600 bars of cigarettes. After making seizure report, the ASO team deposited the confiscated cigarettes to Hyderabad State Warehouse.

The ASO team took part in the said operation was comprising of Superintendent Abu Muhammad Warsi , Inspectors Asaduddin Mirza, Muhammad Iqba Mughal, Mushtaque Ali Lakho, Shakeel Khan, Sepoys Mohammad Ayub, Javed Mashkoor, Hawaldar Muhammad Ahmed, Ayuob Sarar, and Driver Sadiq Khas Kheli.

Meanwhile, sources said that the Hyderabad Collectorate State warehouse will hold auction of non-duty paid vehicles and seized goods on April 22/23, 2017.

The auction will start at 11:00 am. It is hoped that the department will collect million of rupees as revenue by this auction.
