Hyderabad ASO seizes smuggled goods worth Rs 44.96m

HYDERABAD: The Anti-Smuggling Organizations of  Larkana and Sukkur seized smuggle goods worth Rs 44.96 million during different raids.

Sources told Customs Today  that Collector Hyderabad Dr Ahmed Mujtabad Memon directed his staff to curb smuggling attempts in the region.

The  ASO  team  under the   supervision  of    Additional Collector Omar Shafique  conducted different operations in Hyderabad and Sukkar and Larkana areas and recovered a huge quantity of smuggled items. The teams comprised Superintendent Sikander  Akber Pahnwar   Deputy  Superintendent   Anwar  Ahmed Siddique,  Inspector  Waqar Ahmed  Baig  Inspector   Nazim Ali , Inspector  Mushtaq Ali  Lakho,  sepoyes   Aslam Chohan, Sadiq Ali , Mehmood  Khan.

The seized items include cloth, tyers and tube, auto parts, diesel, foreign origin cigarette, electronic goods, blankets,  medicine, dinner set crockery, gutka, and others  contraband goods items.

The ASO team registered separate cases of smuggling against accused persons and forward the cases to the customs adjudications.
