Hyderabad ASO seizes smuggled items worth Rs 1.8 million

HYDERABAD: Model Customs Collectorate Hyderabad Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) seized smuggled items worth Rs 1.8 million involving duty/taxes amounting to Rs 1 million.

As per detail, ASO team following the instructions of Collector Hyderabad, Mujtaba Memo intercepted a truck bearing Registration No. RPT-5810 near Hyderabad bypass going to Punjab and conducted thorough research.

While searching the vehicle, ASO recovered 206 crates of foreign origin rani juice, 150 cartons of cakes, wafers and biscuits, 33 larges bicycle and 150 pieces of small cycles. ASO asked the driver to produce documents regarding the legal possession of the items but he remained failed on which customs seized the items.

ASO team comprising Superintendent Nadeem Usmani, Deputy Superintendent Sikandar Akbar Panhwar Seizing Officer Khair Mohammad Phatan, Inspector Momin Shah, Mohammad Ail Lohar and other participated in operation against smuggling.
