Hyderabad Customs collects Rs 3.17 billion in 4 months

HYDERABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate Hyderabad Dry Port and Sukkur division has collected Rs 3.176 million under the head of customs duties and taxes during first four months (July-October) of current fiscal year 2015-16.

As per details, the department generated Rs 648.6 million as customs duty, Rs 2423.27 million in wake of sales tax, Rs 8.570 million under the head of federal excise duty, Rs 95.86 million as income tax during the said perioid.

The major tax sources were remained Huffaz Seamless Pipe Industries, Crescent Steel, Omni Polymer Industries, Rema Cooking Oil and the Pakistan State Oil.

The taxes were collected under the supervision of Hyderabad Customs Collector Dr Ahmed Mujtaba Memon, Additional Collector Omar Shafique, Assistant Collector Imran Afxal, Principle Appraiser Riaz ur Rehman, Inspector Mohammed Yaqoob Pasha.
