HYDERABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate has received Rs 430.040 million of customs duty (CD) and taxes against target of Rs 1682.970 during the first seven days of November FY2017-18.
Sources told Customs Today, that the Collectorate collected Rs 119.145 million as customs duty, Rs302.274 million under the head of sales tax, and Rs 8.621 million under the head of withholding tax (WHT) during the above mentioned period.
The Customs House Hyderabad expected to achieve Rs 441.880 million as customs d0uty (CD), Rs 1208.600 million of sales taxes (ST), Rs1.330 million of federal excise duty (FED) and Rs 31.160 million as withholding tax (WHT).
The major tax sources include unit of Sukkur (OMC & Rima Cooking oil) SWH, Sukkur Directorate, Sukkur Dry Port, Hyderabad Bonded Ware House, State Ware House, Export Hyderabad and KPR (Zero Point) M/s Huffaz Seamless Pipe Industries, M/s Crescent Steel, M/s Omni Polymer Industries and M/s Pakistan State Oil.
The Model Customs Collectorate Hyderabad, Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO), also impounded non-duty paid vehicles including smuggled Iranian High Speed Diesel (HSD), foreign origin non-duty-paid cigarettes of different brands, foreign origin 694729 sachets of Indian Gutka, 21 cartons of medicine, Rani Juice, coconut chocolate bars, electronic items, auto parts and other items worth Rs27million during September and October 2017-18.
Under the supervision of Hyderabad Customs Collector Akhlaq Ahmad Khattaq Dr Aamer Nawaz Hamid, Deputy Collector Dry Port, Deputy Port Kalimullah, Principal Appraiser Mashuq Ali Panhwar, Appraiser Ashir, Ms Tabasum and Superintendent Statistical Revenue and ASO played an important role in the revenue collection, the sources concluded as saying.
