Hyderabad Customs seized smuggled items worth Rs 14.2m in 4 months

HYDERABAD: The customs intelligence field  investigation unit Hyderabad  has seized smuggled vehicles, tiles, goods items worth Rs 19.5  million. The goods also involves duty and taxes amounting to  Rs 14.2 million. The items were impounded from August upto November 2015

Sources told Customs Today, that  customs intelligence and investigation conducted various operations against the smuggled goods and vehicles in different areas of Hyderabad

Sources said that deputy director FIU Muhammad Tayyab received credible information about different smuggling activities. Soon after receiving the tip of he constituted a raiding team.

The  team  was comprising  of deputy  superintendent  Sikander Hayat  Khanzada,  inspector   Irfan Ghani,  inspector   Noor  Muhammad  Shah,  inspector Yawar  Abbas and other  staff participated  in the operation and recovered vehicles Toyota  Land Cruiser  bearing registration No- BD  3674 worth  Rs 24,00,000 Suzuki  Sierra  jeep registration No- BC-1301 Rs.6,00,000,  truck   bearing registration  No- TQK-890 worth  Rs 82,17,000
Indus   corolla car registration NO  AAH-704 worth Rs  5,00,000 with Toyota  car registration  No AGN-316  Rs. 15,41,000 and other  goods  items  while including foreign  origin CNG cylinder, Rani juice, katchup, T-shirts,   chocolate, shampoo , used tyres, engro polymer and chemical  begs,  20 PP begs.
